Teeth Whitening Cosmetic Dentistry
At Duri Clinic Medical Center we are able to use a range of procedures to achieve the result you are looking for including:
Professional Home Teeth Whitening
This is the most popular teeth whitening system as it is very predictable and enables our patients to maintain the white shade of their teeth very easily at home. Bespoke whitening trays are made to fit over the surfaces of all of your teeth. These trays are designed for home use using Dentist prescribed tooth whitening gel. Your Dentist will advise you on how to effectively use them. They will need to be worn overnight or for a few hours, usually over a two-week period. They can also be worn during the day if you prefer. This is a very simple system to use, putting you in control of the result. You can choose how often and for how long you wish to whiten your teeth. You can then simply use top-up whitening gels to whiten your teeth further, or whenever you feel the need to whiten your teeth again.Internal Bleaching
Your Dentist will prescribe this treatment for individually discolored teeth caused by previous injury or endodontic (root canal) treatment. It involves placing whitening gel into the chamber of the tooth and usually requires 3-4 sessions over a 6-8 week period. This is the ideal treatment solution for patients who have just one or two discolored teeth.Teeth Whitening Results
We will take clinical pictures of your teeth before and after treatment – you will be amazed by the results. We can control how white your teeth will be following treatment to ensure that you achieve the right shade for your smile. You’re in control and you will decide which colour is best for you.FAQ
How Long Do Teeth Whitening Results Last?
You can expect the whitening result from your teeth whitening to last for a couple of years. The more you try limiting things that stain your teeth including red wine, coffee, and smoking, the longer the results will last.
If you start to see the color of your teeth fading a little, simply top it back up again. Remember that your whitening trays will last for many years so just ask our team for another syringe of whitening gel and regain your brilliant white smile.
How to Keep your Teeth White After Treatment
To keep your teeth beautifully white after treatment, cut down on the amount of food and drinks which stain your teeth. Items such as tea, coffee, red wine, and turmeric should not be consumed too frequently. It is advisable to stop smoking as this is one of the main causes of stained teeth.
Regular sessions with our hygienist are recommended to not only keep your teeth looking cleaner, but also to keep your gums healthier.
If you notice your teeth discoloring again, simply ‘top-up’ the whitening using your bespoke whitening trays for a few days.
Will My Teeth Be Sensitive?
Some people may experience sensitivity during the tooth whitening treatment. These symptoms are only temporary and will subside soon after finishing treatment. We provide desensitizing toothpaste without teeth whitening to help minimize this.
Is Teeth Whitening Safe?
There is no damage caused to your teeth by using professional tooth whitening. As long as you use the gels provided by your Dentist, we know that it is safe for your teeth.
What about Teeth Whitening Toothpastes?
Whitening toothpaste alone will not lighten the natural color of your teeth. They may however remove some surface staining, as they can be very abrasive. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of whitening toothpaste as it can cause loss of the surface enamel. Professional tooth whitening is the safer way to whiter teeth.
